Our History
The Warner Graham Company was originally founded as the William Graham Company, and was located in downtown Baltimore. William Graham and his partner, Frank Warner operated the company as a naval stores and alcohol distribution outlet.
When Mr. Graham passed, Frank Warner took over the company. To honor William Graham and the excellent reputation the company had within the industry, the company name was changed to the Warner Graham Company.
Some years later, Frank Warner brought on his son-in-law, George M.S. Riepe, who would later take over the company after Frank’s passing.
It was during George’s leadership that the company relocated to its current location in Cockeysville, MD. The new larger site allowed them to expand the services and capabilities, adding more filling and bulk storage, as well as later expanding their bonded warehouse.
George’s son Mitch Riepe joined the company in the early 1970’s and took over the company in the late 1980’s. During his tenure as president, amongst many other forward looking projects, he began the process to expand the operation to our railsite in Baltimore.
Mitch passed in 1997 before he could see the project completed. The railsite was fully operational less than a year after his passing, with the company under the leadership of his wife Mary.
Their son, Alec, joined the company full time in 2001 and today serves as the president. He is responsible for all daily business operations, making him the fourth generation of the Warner Graham Company.
